A simplified name for the group of beaches comprising: Cala Estreta, Cala d’en Remendon, Cala de Roca Bona and Platja de “Cap de Planes”
It is in the area of Es Castell, a space of natural interest. Cala Estreta is an unspoilt beach surrounded by cliffs. It is 200 m long and 15 m wide and is a corner that is full of beauty. The beach is of coarse-grained sand and has shallow water with a mixed seabed of sand and rock.
Facing the beach, approximately one kilometre from it, are the Formigues islands. These are four islets with abundant marine vegetation on the seabed around them. They are very popular with divers thanks to their rich plant and animal life, as well as the impressive meadows of soft corals. They have been key figures in some major episodes of naval warfare in the history of Catalonia. In the cove, there is also an old fisherman’s hut, recorded as far back as 1531.
