This beach forms part of a residential and tourist area. It is located in a bay to the north of Palamós next to the beach of Sant Esteve de la Fosca. Its name comes from the presence of a large black rock. With a length of 500 m and a width of 42 m, this beach has shallow water and fine sand.
A pleasant promenade runs the length of the beach. There are some beautiful summer houses on the seafront dating from the first half of the last century. The right-hand end of the beach is flanked by the impressive Cap Gros. This is a pine-covered massif that juts out into the sea, with its walls forming tall cliffs. A coastal path follows this cape.
